Phantom Digital Effects Ltd Set to Acquire Award-Winning VFX Studios Milk VFX and Lola Post

The Acquisition will Bolster the Group’s Existing Brand Portfolio Which Already Includes PhantomFX, Spectre Post and Tippett Studio.

Phantom Digital Effects LTD the parent company of VFX studios PhantomFX, Spectre Post and Tippett Studio, announced this week that it has entered into an agreement in principle to acquire Milk and Lola Post, two of Europe’s most respected and award-winning visual effects studios.

Founded in 2013 and headquartered across London, Barcelona, Bordeaux, and Dublin, Milk is celebrated for its innovative work in high-end episodic television and feature films. Sister studio Lola Post, founded in 2000, brings decades of expertise in documentaries, specialist factual content, and original drama.

Together, they have earned some of the industry’s highest honors including an Academy Award for Ex Machina, four BAFTA TV Craft Awards for Troy: Fall of a City, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and Doctor Who, as well as a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Sherlock.

This acquisition will mark a major step forward in the Phantom group’s journey, adding Europe to its creative and geographic footprint - already including APAC and North America -, and further strengthening its brand portfolio. This exciting development follows several key milestones in the Group’s journey, including the addition of Tippett Studio and the launch of Spectre Post last year, and the recent establishment of Phantom China earlier this year. 

Following the completion of the acquisition, Milk and Lola Post will continue to operate under their respective names. Leadership remains unchanged, with Chris Burn as Group Managing Director. At Milk, Sara Bennett, Neil Roche, and Jean-Claude Deguara will continue to lead as Chief Creative Officer, Deputy Chief Creative Officer, and Production VFX Supervisor respectively, while Rob Harvey continues as Creative Director at Lola Post.
